Captains Cottage Guide

WELCOME TO CAPTAINS COTTAGE

Captains Cottage is located within easy walking distance to Hobart CBD, Salamanca and Battery Point, and is equipped with everything to make your stay a comfortable one. The surrounding area is filled with popular cafes which are perfect to get your daily coffee fix, restaurants to suit all tastebuds, craft breweries for the beer lovers, trendy bars, and local larders to sample the best Tasmanian produce.

About Captains Cottage

Heritage listed Captains Cottage was originally built for a ship’s captain in the 1800s. The land title was first granted in 1826, however, there is uncertainty about exactly when the cottage was built, with estimates of its age ranging from 1830 to 1870. Over the years improvements have been made and recently we have installed a deep claw foot bath for long luxurious soaking.

We bought this cottage sight unseen and just knew she was special. We stay here every chance we get and are always a little sad to leave, however, it gives us great joy to share her with trea- sured guests who look after her when we can’t.

Captains Cottage is your place to drop anchor while staying in Hobart and we hope you fall in love with her as we have.
